Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre with an aquarium, is 1.7 km away, and Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai silk in a traditional house, is 2.5 km. Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large weekend market, is further out and is best reached on a separate trip.

A full day could start at The Grand Palace, 6.4 km away, one of the most visited sites in the city, where the Temple of the Emerald Buddha stands inside the same complex, and go on to Wat Arun across the river. Back in Sukhumvit, the evening can be spent at Siam Paragon or on the side streets around the hostel.
