Fellows House

The rooms at Fellows House are mostly bunk beds in dormitory rooms, some mixed and some for women, with capsules on the upper deck and a shared bedroom with queen beds for up to two guests. Air conditioning and blackout curtains come in several of the rooms, and the bathrooms are shared between guests.

The capsule rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator, and one room has a double bed for a single guest. Free instant coffee comes with some of the rooms, and showers and hair dryers are provided in the bathrooms.

Fellows House has a shared lounge and TV area for guests, and the lounge is air-conditioned, so it is a place to sit out of the heat. Lockers, luggage storage and safety deposit boxes are provided, and daily housekeeping is part of the service. The property also has a buzzer and wireless intercom.

Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and in the public areas, and the hotel offers internet services and wireless internet access. English and Thai are spoken at the hotel, and Wi-Fi is also offered for special events. Guests who arrive with heavy bags can leave them in the luggage storage before they go out to explore Bangkok.

Fellows House sits on Krung Thon Buri Road in Thonburi, the district on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River, opposite the historic centre of Bangkok. The streets around the hotel are quieter than the big shopping areas on the other side, with temples, riverside paths and local life close by. Many of the older temples and monuments of the capital lie on this side of the water, so a walk from the hotel can take in several sites without crossing the river.

The best-known sights are a short trip away: Wat Arun, the temple with its tall prang, is 2.7 km away on the riverside, and the Grand Palace is 3.3 km away across the river. Closer to home, Wat Thong Phleng, a pagoda 600 m away, and the King Taksin Monument, 700 m away, make an easy start to the day. Wongwian Yai BTS Station is 650 m away, and it links the area to the Skytrain network.

A good day could begin at Wat Thong Phleng, then move to Wat Arun on the riverside, and finish at the Asiatique riverfront. For a quieter afternoon, Chaloemprakiarti Forest Park offers green space nearby, and the riverside walks around the hotel make a pleasant end to the day.
