The streets around the hotel are lively, with food stalls, tailors and shops, so there is plenty of street life close at hand. Pratunam Market, one of the district's best-known markets, is close to the hotel.

The Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop Station is 150 m away, and the Phaya Thai Train Station, 650 m away, is on the same line and connects with the BTS Skytrain. For sightseeing, Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre in the Siam district, is 1.2 km away, and the Jim Thompson House, a traditional Thai house that is now a museum, is 1.6 km away. A taxi or the Skytrain can cover these trips.

A full day can begin at the Grand Palace, 5.4 km away, and continue to Wat Arun on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, which is reached by boat or taxi. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is best saved for a weekend, when its thousands of stalls are open, and it is a trip out from the hotel rather than a walk.
