Ekanake Hostel

The rooms at Ekanake Hostel range from female-only and mixed dormitory rooms to family rooms and family suites, and every room measures 32 or 36 m². The family suite has a garden view, while several rooms look over the city. The family suite can take up to nine guests, and the rooms as a whole are set up for solo travellers as well as groups.

Rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, linens, a hair dryer and a shower. Children are welcome at the hostel, and a baby cot can be requested directly from the property, subject to availability. Beds vary by room, so check the room you choose for the number of guests it sleeps.

Ekanake Hostel is in the Bangkok Riverside area, on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River, a neighbourhood of temples, markets and riverside piers. Across the water the old city of Rattanakosin begins, and the two banks are linked by river ferries that leave from the piers near the hostel. Siriraj Hospital is close by, so the streets here are shaped by daily local life rather than by visitors alone.

Wat Rakhang Kositaram, a riverside temple 200 m from the hostel, is one of the first sights on this bank. Tha Wang Lang pier, 450 m away, is the easiest way to cross the river to the Rattanakosin side, where the Grand Palace and the royal temples sit. Wat Arun, a temple with a tall prang on the Thonburi bank, is 1.1 km away, and the Grand Palace is 850 m away from the hostel.

A good day could start with the temples on this bank, then cross by ferry to the Grand Palace area in the afternoon. The day can end with a stroll through Phran Nok Market, which is 650 m from the hostel, where the stalls and shops show how the neighbourhood lives during the day.
