Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall, tiered prang, is about 3.2 km away, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, also called Wat Pho, is 3.3 km away with its giant reclining Buddha. The Grand Palace is 3.7 km away on the other side of the river.

For a day out, start with Wat Arun in the morning and head across to the Grand Palace, then continue to Asiatique The Riverfront, a riverside shopping and night-market complex about 1.9 km from the hostel. Chaloemprakiarti Forest Park is a short stroll away when you want some shade, and Taksin Bridge is close by along the river.
