D Box Hostel

Rooms at D Box Hostel range from a 14 m² double room with a pool view to an 82 m² suite with a king bed and a full kitchen. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and most rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a shower.

The hostel also has a 57 m² studio with a balcony or terrace, a 60 m² connected room for up to four guests, a 57 m² family room with a balcony for up to five guests, and a 60 m² family room with eight bunk beds for up to eight guests. A family dormitory and a family shared room for up to three guests are also available.

The shared lounge and TV area has cable channels, a DVD player and a selection of DVDs, and there are billiards too. The front desk is open 24 hours, and the hostel has an elevator, luggage storage and daily housekeeping.

Tours, a taxi service, ticket services, dry cleaning and business facilities are available, and English and Thai are spoken. On-site parking is available, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms.

Pratunam is a busy district in central Bangkok, known for its wholesale clothing markets and street stalls, and it sits next to the Ratchaprasong and Siam shopping areas. The hostel sits on Petchaburi Road, one of the city's main central roads, with the skytrain and the shopping streets within walking distance. Taxis are easy to find on the main roads, so the rest of the city is never far away.

Ratchathewi BTS station is 450 m away, and Phaya Thai train station is 500 m, so the skytrain and rail links are close at hand. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, is 600 m away, and the Siam area around it is one of the busiest shopping districts in the city. Further afield, the Grand Palace is 4.8 km away, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn on the Chao Phraya river, is 5.1 km away, so both fit comfortably into a full day out.

A good day could begin at Jim Thompson House, a museum in a traditional teak house that belonged to the American silk entrepreneur, and continue to Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's biggest weekend markets. In the evening, the Asiatique riverfront complex, a converted warehouse area by the river, makes a good finish.
