Cocoloco hostel

The rooms at Cocoloco hostel are dormitory rooms for six, eight and ten guests, plus a twin room. Air conditioning and a seating area are fitted in every room, and the rooms measure between 15 and 30 m². The dormitory rooms have single beds only, and the twin room has two.

Several rooms have a mountain view and a balcony or terrace. The Standard Twin Room has its own private bathroom, while the dormitory rooms share bathrooms. Linens, blackout curtains and coffee and tea makers are also part of the rooms, and one dormitory room is set aside for women.

It is a lively part of town, with night markets and a steady flow of travellers, and it suits people who want an easy base for boat trips and beach days. The area is busy in the evenings, and the markets are a short walk from the hostel.

The Wednesday Evening Market and the Klong Haeng Saturday Market are a few hundred metres away, and the Ao Nang Night Market is about 1.1 km off. Noppharat Thara Beach is the closest beach to the hostel, and Ao Nang Beach, 1.7 km away, is a long stretch of sand on the bay. From Ao Nang, longtail boats make the trip to Railay, 4.7 km away, a limestone peninsula of cliffs and beaches that is reached mainly by boat.

A full day could start with a longtail boat from Ao Nang to Railay and continue to Phra Nang Cave Beach, where a shrine sits inside the cave. Back in town, the night markets make an easy evening, and Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 14.8 km away, is a hillside temple reached by a long climb.
