Cocohouse

Every room at Cocohouse has air conditioning, blackout curtains, a flat-screen TV with Netflix streaming, a hair dryer, toiletries, towels, linens and a walk-in shower. The rooms range from a single room for one guest to triple rooms for three, with sizes from 23 to 32 m².

Some rooms have a balcony. The twin room has two single beds, and the triple rooms combine a single bed and a queen bed or have three single beds. A private bathroom comes with the 29 m² triple room and the 32 m² triple room, and the twin room, the triple room with balcony and the single room have shared bathrooms.

Cocohouse offers express check-in and check-out, luggage storage and daily housekeeping, and luggage can be left with the hostel after check-out. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and internet services are offered alongside it. The rooms have streaming services such as Netflix and a flat-screen TV.

Air conditioning is in the public areas as well as the rooms, and English and Thai are spoken at the hostel. The hostel offers a family room, and the rooms are accessible by stairs, so guests with heavy bags should plan for the climb.

Blackout curtains, a hair dryer and toiletries are provided in the rooms, and rooms can have a refrigerator and free bottled water.

Cocohouse is on Sukhumvit, one of central Bangkok's main commercial streets, where the BTS skytrain runs above the road and the side lanes, known as sois, are lined with hotels, restaurants, massage shops and street stalls. It is a practical area for travellers who want shopping, nightlife and public transport close at hand, rather than the temples of the old town, which are a longer journey across the city.

The nearest stations are Phloen Chit, 350 m away, and Nana, 600 m away, both on the Sukhumvit line. From Phloen Chit, Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre with an aquarium and cinemas, is a short skytrain ride away. The Jim Thompson House, a museum set in traditional Thai teak houses, lies 2.6 km away, while the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, in the old city by the Chao Phraya river, are a longer trip across town. Chatuchak Weekend Market, 6.1 km away, is one of the largest weekend markets in Asia.

A good day could start at the Jim Thompson House, then take the skytrain to Siam for the shopping centre, and end on the Sukhumvit streets around Nana, where the evening stalls and bars fill up. Wat Arun and the Grand Palace make a longer day trip, best planned as a separate outing from the hostel.
