The streets around Sala Daeng and Silom Road are lively in the evening, with bars, restaurants and shops. Office workers, travellers and street vendors share the same pavements in the evening.

Si Lom MRT station is 350 m away and Sala Daeng BTS station 450 m, so the metro and skytrain cover much of the city from here. Klang Soi Market is 100 m away, and Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre with cinemas and an aquarium, is 2.3 km away. Wat Arun sits on the Chao Phraya river, and the Grand Palace is 5.7 km away. Jim Thompson House, a teak home that displays Thai silk and art, is also in the area.

A good day starts with a walk through the Silom and Sala Daeng streets and a morning stroll in Lumpini Park, a large green space in the city. In the evening, Patpong's night market is a short walk from the hostel. Further afield, the Grand Palace and Wat Arun make a full day together with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
