Chingcha Bangkok

The rooms at Chingcha Bangkok range from mixed and female-only dormitories, with bunk beds, to a private double and family rooms for up to three guests. Several rooms have city views and air conditioning, and some have blackout curtains and toiletries.

The family rooms come with single and double beds, and one of them offers a choice of bed set-ups. The dormitory beds are bunk beds, and in those rooms the bathroom is shared, while the family rooms and the private double have their own shower or bathroom. A street view or a city view depends on the room you choose.

The bar and the shared lounge/TV area are the social spaces of Chingcha Bangkok, and the coffee shop, restaurants and room service cover the other meals. A 24-hour front desk and 24-hour security are on site, and there is an elevator, luggage storage, lockers and a laundry service.

Tours can be arranged, and there is also ticket services, dry cleaning and a cash withdrawal facility. Daily housekeeping is provided, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and offered in the public areas.

The hotel stands on Siriphong Road in Samran Rat, in the Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok's old town. The area is full of temples, palaces and museums from the Rattanakosin period, and the nearby streets lead toward Chinatown, so the neighbourhood combines historic monuments with local markets.

The Giant Swing, one of the best-known monuments in the district, is a short walk away, and the Samran Rat Fresh Market is nearby. Khaosan Road, about 900 m away, is the backpacker street of the area, lined with guesthouses, bars and street-food stalls. The Grand Palace is about 1.2 km away, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha inside its grounds, and Wat Arun stands on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River, about 1.7 km away.

Sam Yot MRT station, 600 m away, is the nearest metro stop to the hotel, which links the hotel to the metro network for trips across the city. A good day here starts at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the morning and finishes at Wat Arun across the river in the late afternoon. Khaosan Road makes a lively place for dinner once the temples are closed for the day.
