Check-in My Hostel

The rooms at Check-in My Hostel all have shared bathrooms, and the choice runs from double and twin rooms to a king room and a quadruple room. Rooms can have air conditioning, a mirror, a hair dryer, toiletries, mosquito nets and free bottled water, and some can also have a microwave, a refrigerator or a washing machine.

Beds vary, with a king or double bed in some rooms and two, three or four single beds in others, so couples and small groups can both find a room that fits. Several rooms look out over the city, and linens are provided in several rooms, with slippers and towels in some of them.

The streets around it mix shops, small eateries and offices, and the big malls of Siam are a short walk away, with Siam Paragon 800 m from the hostel. It is a practical base for seeing the city, with the Skytrain and the shops close at hand.

Jim Thompson House, 100 m away, is the teak home of the American-born silk entrepreneur and is now a museum open to visitors. The nearby Ban Krua Silk Factory is another silk-themed stop. Ratchathewi BTS Station, 400 m away, links the area to the Skytrain network, which runs to Siam and beyond.

A good day could begin at Jim Thompson House, continue through the shops at Siam Paragon, and end with a short Skytrain ride from Ratchathewi, which is one stop from Siam. For the temples and palaces of the old city, plan a longer trip across town to the Grand Palace area, where Wat Phra Kaew, 3.9 km away, sits inside the Grand Palace complex. Taxis make the trip simple, so it is best saved for a full day out.
