Bubble Space Hostel

The rooms at Bubble Space Hostel are built around bunk beds in dormitory-style spaces, with family-size rooms for groups and set-ups for solo travellers. Several rooms measure 12 m², and one room measures 30 m². Some rooms offer single or double bed set-ups, and the family-size rooms sleep up to six or seven guests.

Some rooms have a shared bathroom with a shower, and air conditioning is fitted in a few of them. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

The hostel runs a 24-hour front desk and 24-hour security, and guests can use luggage storage, lockers and safety deposit boxes. There is a shared lounge and TV area, and the languages spoken include English, Khmer and Thai.

For meals and drinks there is a restaurant, a bar and a coffee shop, and room service is available. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and wireless internet is also offered in public areas.

An airport transfer is available, and cash withdrawal is also offered at the hostel. Lockers and luggage storage are there for guests who want to keep their bags while they explore, and the 24-hour security runs around the clock.

Pratunam is a busy commercial district in the Ratchathewi area of central Bangkok, known for its clothing stalls and wholesale trade. The hostel sits on Soi Petchburi 17 off Petchburi Road, so the streets around it fill up through the day with shops, market stalls and office workers moving between the main road and the smaller lanes. Street-food stalls and small shops line many of those lanes, and the area stays busy into the evening.

Pratunam Market is close by, and Ratchaprarop station on the Airport Rail Link, 300 m from the hostel, runs to Suvarnabhumi Airport, so the airport is reachable by rail from this part of town. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, is 900 m away, and Jim Thompson House, a museum in the former home of the American businessman who helped revive Thai silk, is 1.3 km away.

A day out could start at the Grand Palace, 5.2 km away in old Bangkok, where the Temple of the Emerald Buddha stands inside the palace complex. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the city's largest weekend markets, offers a different kind of day, with stalls spread across a large site. Both can be combined into one trip, with the older royal sights in the morning and the market later on.
