Phra Ae Beach is a long sandy beach and one of the island's best-known stretches of sand. Khao Mai Kaew Cave, 7.4 km away, is one of the island's better-known sights, and Mu Ko Lanta National Park, 15 km away, covers a large area of the island and its waters. Once on the island, the roads reach the beaches and the cave, while Krabi International Airport, 56.8 km away, means a road journey to a mainland pier and then a boat crossing. Lanta Old Town, in the Sala Dan area, is another stop for a day out.

A good day could start with a swim in the outdoor pool at the villa and a walk to Lung Phon Beach, then continue to Khao Mai Kaew Cave in the afternoon. Khlong Chak Waterfall is another destination on the island. During the monsoon months, rough seas can affect boat crossings, so a day trip by sea needs some flexibility.
