Balcony Party Hostel Ao Nang has bunk-bed dormitories, both mixed and female only, along with twin and triple rooms with single beds. In each dormitory every bed is for one guest, and the dormitories range from a female-only room with ten bunk beds to a mixed room with a sea view.

Balcony Party Hostel Ao Nang is close to the sand, and the streets around it are lively, with food stalls, shops and boats coming and going at the pier. In the evening the streets fill with people heading to the restaurants, and the hostel suits anyone who wants the sea within walking distance and the town's evening life close by.

Ao Nang Beach is 50 m away, and Noppharat Thara Beach is 650 m, while the Ao Nang Night Market is 850 m from the hostel. Boats for the islands leave from the pier nearby, and Railay Beach, 2.8 km away, can only be reached by longtail boat. Poda Island and Tup Island are also reached by boat from Ao Nang, and the Hong Islands and the Emerald Pool are further away, for full-day trips. The Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) stands inland near Krabi town.

A good day here starts with a longtail trip to the islands for snorkelling around Poda and Tup, and ends back in town with the night market and its food stalls. Boat trips can be disrupted by rough seas during the monsoon months, which can make the crossing rougher. On a day when the sea is calm, the Krabi town temple and the cliffs around Ao Nang make a good inland alternative.
