Baan 89 Hostel

Baan 89 Hostel has dormitory rooms with bunk beds, double rooms and a family room for up to five guests. Several rooms have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and city views, and some have a shared bathroom. A 12 m² double with a queen bed and a balcony/terrace is also offered, and it has a city view from its balcony/terrace.

A 30 m² mixed dormitory room sleeps one guest, and a 25 m² double room with a shared bathroom sleeps up to three. Some dormitory rooms have lockers, and several rooms come with complimentary tea and instant coffee, so there is something for each kind of stay.

Baan 89 Hostel offers a 24-hour front desk, room service, daily housekeeping, laundry and dry cleaning, and luggage storage, with express check-in and check-out. Tours can be arranged, a taxi service is available, and there is on-site parking.

A continental breakfast is included, and room service is available. Free Wi-Fi covers the rooms and the public areas, and there are lockers, a shared lounge with a TV, and a 24-hour security service. English and Thai are spoken.

Ticket services are also offered, and the family room is available for groups of up to five. The front desk is open 24 hours, and the hostel's shared lounge is open to all guests.

Baan 89 Hostel is on an alley in Phra Nakhon, the old city of Bangkok, in the Rattanakosin area where the royal palaces and many of the city's oldest temples are grouped. The streets here are compact, and several of the main sights can be reached on foot, which suits a first visit to Bangkok, and the old city's temples and palaces are close by on foot or by a short ride.

Khaosan Road, the well-known street of guesthouses and street food, is about 750 m away, and the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha lie within about 1.4 km. Wat Arun stands on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya river and is reached by river ferry, while Sam Yot MRT station, about 900 m from the hostel, connects to the wider city.

A full day can begin at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Chetuphon, the temple of the giant reclining Buddha, and continue to Wat Arun by ferry before an evening on Khaosan Road. Sanam Luang, the open field beside the palace, makes a good place to walk between the sights, and the Democracy Monument on Ratchadamnoen Avenue is a short walk from the hostel.
