Anurak Guesthouse

The guesthouse has rooms for two to four guests, from single rooms to a standard double room with a king bed. Several rooms have a fan, and one single room has air conditioning.

Anurak Guesthouse stands in South Thonburi, on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, on a soi off Tak Sin Road. It is a residential neighbourhood where local markets, temples and riverside piers sit close together, away from the main tourist districts of central Bangkok. The area shows everyday Bangkok, with its markets and temples, in a way the busier tourist districts do not.

Dao Khanong Market is 150 m away, a neighbourhood market selling everyday food and goods, and Wat Bukkalo, a local temple in the neighbourhood, is 550 m away. The Siam Charoen Nakhon Pier on the Chao Phraya is 850 m away, and Rama III Bridge, a long road bridge across the river, is 1 km away. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall prang, is 5.1 km away, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street on the other side of the river, lies in the old city.

A day could start at Dao Khanong Market in the morning and continue to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace, the royal complex in the old city. Khaosan Road makes a good evening after the temples, with its bars, guesthouses and street food, and it stays busy into the night.
