A Bangkok Journey

The sleeping arrangements at A Bangkok Journey centre on dormitories with bunk beds, including a female-only dorm and mixed dorms. Two dorms with a city view measure 25 m² and sleep up to eight guests each, and the family room sleeps up to four guests in four single beds.

Further rooms include a Deluxe Room for up to three guests, a mixed dormitory for up to nine guests, and dorms for two and four guests, with bunk beds in the female-only and mixed dormitories.

A Bangkok Journey has outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a fitness centre, a spa with a sauna and steamroom, and a hot tub. Guests can also use a game room, karaoke, a yoga room and a computer station, while the spa offers body scrub and body wrap treatments and a foot bath.

For eating and everyday needs there is a coffee shop and a shared kitchen. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and there is also wired internet and WiFi in public areas. Daily housekeeping, lockers and 24-hour security are also provided.

The water park with its water slides adds to the leisure facilities, and the shared lounge with a TV area gives guests a common space to meet between outings.

A Bangkok Journey is in the Sukhumvit area of eastern Bangkok, on Sukhumvit 67 Alley, a side street off the long avenue that runs through the district. Sukhumvit is busy, lined with hotels, shopping centres, street-food stalls and local markets, and the side streets carry much of the everyday life of the neighbourhood.

The Phra Khanong BTS Station is 250 m from the hotel, and the Ekkamai BTS Station is 600 m away, so the skytrain is the simplest way to reach the rest of the city. Close by are Phra Khanong Market, Phibun Wet Park and the Wat That Thong pagoda, which give the area a local feel.

A day out could combine the temples of the old city, such as the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, with an evening on Khaosan Road, which are about 11 km away. Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is 17.6 km away, and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is 21.9 km away. For shopping and culture, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the best-known markets in the city, and Jim Thompson House, the former home of the American silk entrepreneur, is now a museum of Thai silk and art, and the old city is easy to plan around from here.
