Wat Pho, also called Wat Phra Chetuphon and known for its reclining Buddha, is 500 m away, and Wat Arun, on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya river, is 1 km away. Sanam Chai MRT station is 550 m from the guesthouse, which is useful for trips further into the city. Jim Thompson House, a museum set in a traditional Thai house, is a longer trip across town.

One day can start at the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha, move on to Wat Pho and Wat Arun, and end on Khaosan Road in the evening, known for its street-food stalls and backpacker bars. For longer trips, the river and the rail network connect the old town with other parts of the city, while Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang are the two airports serving Bangkok.
