Wat Mahathat, known for a Buddha head caught in the roots of a tree, and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the former royal temple with its three large chedis, are a little further away within the historic park. Small ferry boats cross the river from piers nearby, and Ayutthaya Train Station is 1000 m away for onward trips by rail.

A good day starts with the temples nearest the hostel, then moves on to the larger ruins of the Historic City of Ayutthaya, 2.4 km away, and the Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village, 1.8 km away, is an option for the afternoon. You return in the evening to the garden or the shared lounge.
