The rooms at Yao Yai Beach Resort have air conditioning, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, toiletries, towels and a hair dryer, an electric kettle, and a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels. The choice includes the Beach Front Pool Villa, the Grand Sea Deluxe and the Boat Villa, along with the Family Sea View and the Diamond Seaview Villa.

The Beach Front Pool Villa, the Sea View Shared Pool Villa and the Diamond Seaview Villa sleep up to four guests, while the Grand Sea Deluxe, the Family Sea View and the Boat Villa sleep up to seven. The Boat Villa has a mountain view, and the resort's swimming pool, garden and spa are all on the grounds.

Yao Yai Beach Resort sits in Ban Lopareh, in the Pru Naai area of the island, so the island's own villages and bays are the immediate surroundings. Most of the day can be spent on the grounds, with the pool, the garden and the spa close at hand.

Loh Pared Beach, the closest beach to the resort, is 250 m away, and Ban Ta Reua village is 1.9 km from the grounds. Laem Nok Beach lies about 5 km away on the island. Phuket lies across the water, with Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) 29.7 km from the resort and Phuket International Airport 32.3 km away.

A slower day here can start on Loh Pared Beach and continue with canoeing, snorkelling or fishing, all of which the resort's facilities include. Evenings can be spent at the bar or the games room. For a change of scene, Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) is one of the most important temples on Phuket, and the trip there starts with a boat crossing.
