White Sand Samui Resort

The rooms at White Sand Samui Resort look out over the pool, the garden or the ocean. Several pool-view rooms have a whirlpool bathtub, the Deluxe Room overlooks the garden and comes with open-air bath privileges, and the villas have ocean views and a king bed.

The Deluxe Family room has one single bed and one double bed for up to three guests, and the rooms with a private bathroom come with toiletries, towels and bathrobes. Several rooms also have satellite and cable channels, and many have a hair dryer and an electric kettle. Whatever room they book, guests use the same two swimming pools, the restaurant and the bar.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, plus a children's swimming pool for younger guests. Meals are served in the restaurant, with a bar, room service and food delivery, and there is a barbecue area, a coffee and tea service and happy hour.

Lamai is a beach village on Koh Samui, with a long stretch of sand and a road lined with restaurants, dive centres and small shops. Lamai Beach is the closest beach to the property, just 50 m away. It is a lively beach area rather than a quiet hillside retreat, with the sea and the evening market close at hand, and Samui Airport is on the island itself, so the trip from the airport does not need a crossing.

Hin Ta & Hin Yai Rocks, two rock formations on the shore known locally as Grandma and Grandpa Rocks, are 300 m away. The Lamai Viewpoint is 700 m away, and the Lamai Night Market, 1.8 km from the resort, is the place for street food and local goods in the evening. The Lamai Scuba Diving Center is nearby for those who want to dive.

Na Muang Waterfall is 5.8 km from the resort, and the Big Buddha, a large statue on a hill, is a longer trip across the island. A good day could start with a swim at Lamai Beach, then visit the rocks and the viewpoint, and end at the night market. Back at the resort, the two swimming pools and the bar are there for a quiet evening.
