Vipa Tropical Resort

Rooms at Vipa Tropical Resort range from standard and superior rooms to one- and two-bedroom villas. Some have a mountain view and others a garden view, and the two-bedroom villa measures 110 m² and sleeps up to four guests.

Rooms can have air conditioning, a refrigerator, a balcony or terrace, and a private bathroom with a shower, and some offer free bottled water. Some rooms have an electric kettle and a hair dryer. Blackout curtains, a flat-screen TV and a telephone are also part of the rooms, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. The superior triple room measures 45 m² and includes open air bath privileges.

Vipa Tropical Resort has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, a spa and sauna, massage treatments, a garden and a terrace. Its restaurants serve buffet breakfast, and room service is also offered.

Canoeing, diving, fishing, horseback riding and snorkelling are all offered, and tours can be arranged. Car hire, a taxi service, bicycle rental and laundry service are also available, together with an airport transfer.

Free parking is available on site, and valet parking is also offered. Wireless internet is available in public areas, and English and Thai are spoken at the resort. The spa area includes a sauna, and massage treatments are offered there too, with the garden nearby for a quiet walk.

Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, on the mainland, where limestone cliffs rise around the bay and longtail boats line the shore. The main beach road is busy and lively, with street-food stalls, massage shops and tour offices, and the town is the starting point for many boat trips to the islands and to the cliffs of Railay. Vipa Tropical Resort is 900 m from Ao Nang Beach, the main beach of the town.

Railay, a limestone peninsula reached by longtail boat, is known for its beaches and for rock climbing, and Phra Nang Cave, on the peninsula, is a cave shrine next to a beach. Poda Island and Tup Island are popular day trips by boat from Ao Nang. On land, Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 14.4 km away, is a hillside temple complex reached by a long staircase up the hill, and the Ao-Nang Landmark Night Market is an evening market in town with food stalls and souvenirs.

A good day could start with a longtail trip to Railay and Phra Nang Cave, then return to the resort's pool and garden in the afternoon. Boat trips depend on the sea and the weather, so departure times can change on the day.
