The bay is a good choice for a stay centred on the sea, with the sand, the water and the cliffs in view from the resort's grounds and balconies.

Ao Nang Beach, 4.5 km away, is the livelier beach strip, lined with shops and tour offices. Railay Beach, 3.8 km away, is a limestone peninsula reached mostly by longtail boat, and Tiger Cave Temple, a hillside Buddhist complex, lies 12.3 km away. Krabi International Airport is 14.7 km away, so the last stretch from the airport is by road.

Ao Nam Mao Beach is 50 m from the resort, so getting down to the sand takes no planning, and the beach stays close for a swim before or after the day's outings.
