Varinda Garden Resort

Every room at Varinda Garden Resort looks out over the garden, and the rooms measure between 25 and 66 m². They sleep between two and five guests, from the 25 m² rooms to the 2 Bedroom Family Suite and the Family House, which sleeps up to five. The rooms sit within the resort's garden grounds, so the setting is green from the window.

Bathtubs feature across the rooms, and the 2 Bedroom Family Suite has a whirlpool bathtub. The Family House, with 66 m² of space, sleeps up to five guests, while the Grand Deluxe Hill Side measures 36 m² and sleeps up to three. Each room is described below with its own size, capacity and equipment.

Varinda Garden Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a children's swimming pool and a spa that offers massage, a hot tub, a steam room and a sauna.

The game room, billiards, bowling alley and library are on site, and bicycle rental, tours, a gift and souvenir shop and a garden terrace are also offered. Guests can try canoeing, diving, snorkelling, surfing lessons and non-motorised water sports.

Dining covers buffet breakfast, restaurants, a bar, a poolside bar, a snack bar, a coffee shop, a BBQ area and food delivery, with room service also available. Parking is free, free WiFi covers all rooms, and a playground and babysitting service are offered for families.

Lamai is a beach area on Koh Samui, the island in the Gulf of Thailand that forms part of Surat Thani province. Lamai Beach is a short walk from the resort, and its sand is lined with cafés and restaurants, so the stretch in front of the resort has a relaxed, everyday life along the beach road. The resort's gardens offer a calmer place to return to between swims, and the green setting gives the stay a quieter feel than the beach itself.

Hin Ta and Hin Yai, the rock formations also known as Grandma and Grandpa Rocks, stand 800 m away on the shore and make a good first stop for a walk along the coast. The Lamai Night Market, 1.4 km away, has street-food stalls in the evening. Further inland, Na Muang Waterfall lies in the island's interior and is reached by road, while the Big Buddha temple sits elsewhere on the island and is also reached by road.

A good day out starts at Hin Ta and Hin Yai and ends at the night market, with Na Muang Waterfall as a trip inland for another day. The Big Buddha can be added to a longer tour of the island, since it too is reached by road. Samui Airport is on the island as well, so the last leg of a trip from the airport is made by road across Koh Samui, and the resort's own garden and pool give you a place to rest in the middle of the day.
