Tropikathu Guest House

The rooms at Tropikathu Guest House are air-conditioned and fitted with blackout curtains. A 25 m² double room has a mountain view, and a 40 m² room with a queen bed looks out over the city. Two 30 m² junior suites each have a private bathroom.

The Large Double Room measures 30 m² and sleeps up to four guests, with a private bathroom, a shower and towels. The junior suites also offer free use of the business areas on site. Bathrobes, a hair dryer and an electric kettle are provided in the Double Air Conditioning room and the Deluxe Balcony.

The guest house has an on-site nightclub, a garden and a shared lounge and TV area, and a restaurant and a bar are on the property. Room service is available, and the 24-hour front desk is open around the clock.

Guests can arrange tours and car hire, and taxi and shuttle services are offered. An airport transfer is available, and laundry service, daily housekeeping, luggage storage and currency exchange are also offered.

There is free parking on site, along with a playground and a kids meal option for families with young children. The restaurant and bar are on the property, so guests can eat and drink without leaving the guest house.

Kathu is a district in the hills just inland from the west coast of Phuket, with residential streets, local shops and food markets rather than resort strips. Kathu Business Street, where the guest house stands, makes a practical base for travellers who want local life close at hand and the beaches on the coast. Food markets and small shops are a daily part of life in the district.

Kathu Shrine is 300 m away and the Phuket Floating Market is 950 m off, a market with food stalls and shows. Phuket International Airport is 22.2 km away, and the temple complex of Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) is 7.6 km away. Patong Beach, at 5.1 km, has restaurants, bars and nightlife along its streets.

Guests who drive can use the free parking on site, and Big Buddha Phuket, a large white statue on a hilltop, is one of the island's best-known landmarks, and many visitors stop there for the views over the island. A day could begin at Wat Chalong, then continue to Karon Beach, a long sandy beach on the west coast south of Patong, and end the evening among the bars and restaurants of Patong, where the beach road is lined with street-food stalls.
