Haad Rin is a beach village on Ko Pha-ngan and the island's best-known party area, with bars, restaurants and guesthouses along the beach and the roads behind it. The Full Moon Party takes place on Rin Beach, 300 m from the resort, on the night of each full moon, which brings the village to life. A small Buddhist shrine, Luang Pu Thuat Shrine, is 700 m away, and the village's bars and restaurants stay within a short walk. Samui Airport (USM) is 14.4 km away on the neighbouring island of Ko Samui, so the trip from there to Ko Pha-ngan ends with a boat crossing.
A day here can start on the sand and continue with dinner in the village, or it can be spent on a trip to Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach or Salad Beach on the island. Both beaches are on other parts of the island and take longer to reach, so they make a day of their own.
