Thongchai Guesthouse

The Standard Fan and Standard Air Conditioning rooms each measure 20 m² and sleep up to two guests on a queen bed. Both have a shower with toiletries, a desk, a TV and a clothes rack, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

The room assigned on arrival sleeps up to three guests. Children aged 2 to 3 stay free of charge when they use the existing bedding.

Free parking is available on site, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. The guesthouse also offers a concierge service, bicycle rental and a convenience store on site, where guests can buy snacks, toiletries and souvenirs.

In the rooms there is a TV, a desk, a clothes rack, a shower and toiletries, and internet access is also available.

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is until 12:00. Children aged 2 to 3 stay free when they use the existing bedding, and a baby cot or crib can be requested directly from the guesthouse, subject to availability.

Thongchai Guesthouse stands on Maharaj Road in the Tha Wa Su Kri area of Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Siamese kingdom. Much of the old town is made up of temple ruins, and the sites are close together. Walking and cycling are the usual ways to see the ruins up close, and most of the main sites are within a few kilometres of one another.

Wat Mahathat, 300 m away, is known for the Buddha head that has grown into the roots of a tree, and Wat Ratchaburana is next to it with its tall prang. The Thai Boat Museum is close by, and the Chantharakasem National Museum, 900 m away, covers the history of the city. Ayutthaya Train Station is the nearest railway station, 1.5 km away, and it is the stop for trains from Bangkok.

One day could start at Wat Mahathat, continue to the Chantharakasem National Museum and end among the temples of the Historic City of Ayutthaya, which is 1 km away. Bicycle rental is offered, a practical way to move between the sites of the old town. Many of the smaller ruins are scattered along the lanes between the bigger temples, so a slow route takes in more of them.
