The Waters Khao Lak by Katathani Resort

Along the beach road there are guesthouses, small restaurants and massage shops, and the village has an afternoon market.

Around the resort, the International Tsunami Museum, 800 m away, covers the tsunami of 2004 that struck this coast, and the Police Boat 813 Tsunami Memorial nearby marks the same disaster. Both the museum and the memorial are in the same area of the coast. Ton Chong Fa Waterfall, 4.4 km away, and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 4.3 km away, sit in the forested hills inland and offer waterfalls and forest trails. Similan National Park is reached by boat from the coast and lies further out at sea.

A full day could start with a swim at the beach, continue with the waterfalls and the forest of the national park, and end with a stroll through the afternoon market in Bang Niang village. Phuket International Airport is 61.9 km away, and the resort offers an airport transfer.
