The Mouth Resort

The rooms at The Mouth Resort measure 26 to 30 m² and range from standard rooms to bungalows, with mountain or garden views in some of them. Rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a desk, a refrigerator and a balcony or terrace, and the bungalows sleep up to five guests.

Bathrooms have a shower, a hair dryer and toiletries, and some rooms have a private bathroom with an additional toilet. Flat-screen TVs with satellite and cable channels are available, and some rooms also have an electric kettle and a telephone.

The Mouth Resort has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, a garden and a solarium. The restaurant, the bar, a coffee shop and BBQ facilities are on site, and 24-hour room service is available.

Outdoor activities include canoeing, diving, fishing, hiking, snorkelling and non-motorised water sports, and the hotel also has bicycles and offers tours. Car hire, a taxi service, a shuttle service and an airport transfer are offered too.

Daily housekeeping and luggage storage are available, and there is free parking on site. Lockers, safety deposit boxes and express check-in and check-out are also offered, and the concierge can help with ticket services and tours for guests who want them.

Khao Lak is a coastal town on the Andaman Sea in Phang Nga province, north of Phuket, and the resort sits in the Bang Niang area. The town was badly hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and the area now has a museum and a memorial that document it, so the history is part of a visit here.

Bang Niang Beach is 1.1 km away, and the Bangnieng Afternoon Market is close by. The International Tsunami Museum and the Tsunami Memorial in the same area document the disaster. Ton Chong Fa Waterfall is 3.3 km from the resort, a multi-level waterfall in the forest, and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park has forest trails and waterfalls for a walk inland.

Phuket International Airport is the nearest airport, 60.9 km away, and the journey from there is by road. The Similan National Park is reached by boat from the coast, and trips to the islands depend on sea conditions, so they are a boat excursion rather than a drive. A simple day could combine the waterfall and the national park in the morning, with the beach and the afternoon market later on. The sights are spread along the coast and inland, so a day out usually means a drive between them.
