A full day of sightseeing could start with the Grand Palace and Wat Arun on the Chao Phraya riverbank, which are a taxi ride from the villa and make a good half-day in the old city. For those arriving or leaving by air, Suvarnabhumi Airport is about 18 km away, and the Soi 38 Nightmarket is a good place to end the day after dark, with its stalls and shops lit up in the evening.
