The rooms at The Sun Resort and Restaurant measure between 45 m² and 120 m², and every one has toiletries and free bottled water. Some rooms overlook the garden and others have a beach view. Family rooms sleep up to four or six guests, and the 90 m² suite sleeps up to four guests.

The Sun Resort and Restaurant sits on Koh Phayam, a small island in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Ranong province in southern Thailand. The island is known for its quiet beaches, and its pace is slower than on the mainland. The sea is the main draw here, and the resort's private beach gives guests a stretch of sand of their own.

Ao Khao Kwai Beach, the nearest beach to the resort, is 400 m away, and Ao Kwang Peeb and Ao Pai beaches lie a little further along the coast. Several small bays and beaches line this part of the island. The Hin Talu viewpoint is 1.8 km from the resort, and the Bot Klang Thale pagoda is 2.4 km away. The Koh Phayam Pier, the island's ferry terminal, is 2.9 km away, and it is where boats from Ranong arrive.

A day could start with a swim at Ao Khao Kwai Beach, followed by a visit to the Hin Talu viewpoint and the Bot Klang Thale pagoda, before a meal at the resort restaurant. Ferries from Ranong can be disrupted by rough seas during the monsoon months, so allow some slack in your travel plans.
