Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, with a sandy bay, a long beach road lined with shops, tour offices and small restaurants, and limestone cliffs rising behind the shore. The Palace Aonang Resort is a short walk from Ao Nang Beach, so the sea is close at hand for swimming and for boat trips.

Longtail boats leave from the Ao Nang Beach Pier for Railay, a peninsula reached mostly by water, where Phra Nang Cave is 3.6 km from the resort and Railay Beach is 2.4 km away.
