Ko Tao has no airport, so visitors arrive by boat, and the island's ferry pier is 1.3 km from the hotel. The island is small, so the bays and beaches close to Chalok Baan Kao can be reached on foot or by the hotel's shuttle service, and the landscape is hilly, with lookout points on the higher ground.
Aow Leuk Bay is 850 m from the hotel, and Sairee Beach, one of the island's best-known beaches, is 1.7 km away. Koh Nang Yuan, a cluster of three small islets just off the coast, is about 5 km away, and it is a popular stop for snorkelling and its viewpoint.
