The Old Ayutthaya

Every room at The Old Ayutthaya has air conditioning and free bottled water. The rooms measure between 14 and 30 m² and range from doubles for two guests to a Group Room for up to eight, with family rooms in between.

Depending on the room, you will find a flat-screen TV, a mosquito net, blackout curtains or a walk-in shower. Families and larger groups can choose among the family rooms and the Group Room.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and WiFi also covers the public areas. Pets are allowed, including in the rooms.

Families can book one of the family rooms, and the Group Room sleeps up to eight guests. Guests can use the BBQ facilities, and the property also has a clothes rack for hanging clothes as well.

Ayutthaya, on the central plains of Thailand, was the capital of the Siamese kingdom for about four centuries, and its temple ruins are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Ayutthaya stands on Jakkaphat Road in Tambon Pratoochai, with the ruins of the old city a short distance away and a town pace that keeps the temple sites close without the bustle of Bangkok.

Wat Mahathat, the temple known for its Buddha head set among the roots of a tree, is 600 m from the hotel, and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, once the royal temple within the palace grounds, is 1.5 km away. The Ayutthaya Train Station is 1.2 km from the property, and trains from Bangkok stop there. The Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village is 2.3 km away, and the Thai Boat Museum is a few hundred metres from the hotel.

A good day could start with the temples around Wat Mahathat, then continue to the Historic City of Ayutthaya, which is 1.4 km from the hotel, and the Thai Boat Museum. In the afternoon the floating market and elephant village offer a different pace, and the ruins are close enough to return to the hotel in the evening.
