The mantra resort

Every room at The mantra resort has a garden view and air conditioning. The rooms cover between 25 and 35 m², and each one sleeps up to two guests, with a bed that suits a couple or a solo traveller.

The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels, an electric kettle, a hair dryer and a shower, and towels and toiletries are provided. The beds are king beds, and the air conditioning runs in every room.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace, along with a massage service. The garden is a place to walk through, and it has a quiet setting. Restaurants, a bar and food delivery are available, and an alternative meal arrangement is also possible.

The mantra resort is on Koh Yao Yai, an island in Phang Nga Bay, and the setting is more rural than the resort strips of Phuket across the water. Life here revolves around small villages and the sea, away from the busy streets of the resort strips, and the island is a good choice for travellers who want quiet rather than nightlife. Laem Had Beach is about 1 km away, and the village of Ao Pun Te is 300 m from the property.

The nearest sights are the Laem Had viewpoint, 2.6 km away, and Chong Lard Pier, a ferry terminal. Hiking and canoeing are possible on the island, and Secret Beach is 7.1 km from the property. Reaching the resort involves a boat, because Phuket International Airport, the nearest airport, is on Phuket island and the last stretch is by water.

For a full day out, Phuket is the main draw: Patong Beach is 36.6 km away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), Phuket's best-known temple, is a good stop, with the Big Buddha in the hills nearby. Karon and Kata beaches are further away on Phuket island, so the boat crossing and the drive need time on the way back.
