The Duck

The rooms at The Duck measure between 21 and 22 m², and each has a shower. They sleep two or three guests, and some have a partial sea view while others have a city view. Some rooms also come with wireless internet access, a telephone or a flat-screen TV. Each room has its own shower, so guests have private bathroom facilities.

The Duck is in Phuket Town, the provincial capital of Phuket, where Sino-Portuguese shophouses line the older streets and daily life moves at a slower pace than on the island's beaches. Visitors who prefer a town setting to a beach resort will find the streets easy to explore on foot, and the local market life is close at hand. Shophouse shops, small cafés and traditional markets make up much of the street life, and the historic buildings give the centre a distinct look.

The local bus terminal is 250 m from the property, and the Phuket Trickeye Museum, known for its three-dimensional painted artworks, is 600 m away. Talad Kaset, a local market, and the Lard Yai Sunday Night Market are also within the town, while Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 7.9 km away.

Patong Beach, a lively stretch of sand on the other side of the island, is 11.3 km away, and Karon and Kata beaches are a longer drive, so a car or taxi is the practical way to reach them. A good day could start with a walk through the town's Sino-Portuguese streets, continue with a visit to the Trickeye Museum, and, on a Sunday, end at the Lard Yai Sunday Night Market.
