The Dorm Hostel

The Dorm Hostel offers dormitory rooms, which are mixed gender only, so guests share the space with other travellers. The beds include bunk, single, double and queen types, and some rooms measure 100 m² while others measure 125 m².

Some rooms have a shared bathroom with a shower and toiletries, while others have a city view or a street view. Guests also have a shared lounge and TV area with a large screen at their disposal.

The hostel has a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, laundry service and daily housekeeping, along with a shared lounge and TV area, a game room and on-site entertainment. Airport transfer and shuttle service are offered, and tours, car hire, taxi service and ticket services can be arranged.

Free WiFi is available in all rooms, and there is WiFi in the public areas, wireless internet access and a free wired connection. Free parking is available nearby, and bicycle parking is offered too.

For food, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a coffee shop, fruit and snacks, and cuisines including Asian, Chinese, international, Western and vegetarian. Guests can also use a shared kitchen, and there is a convenience store, a gift and souvenir shop and a salon.

The Dorm Hostel is on Montree Road in Phuket Town, the main town of Phuket and the capital of the province, where old shophouses, markets and museums sit close together. Many of the buildings have Sino-Portuguese facades, a style that runs through the town. It is a town setting rather than a beach area, so the day is built around streets, markets and museums.

Museum Phuket and the Peranakan Museum are a few hundred metres away, and the Lard Yai Sunday Night Market and the Plein Poa Night Market are close by, so the evening market visits need no transport. The Phuket Town Local Bus Station (Terminal 1) is 350 m away. The best-known temple on the island, Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), is 7.4 km away, and Patong Beach is 10.8 km away, so the beaches are a longer trip by road.

Phuket is linked to the mainland by a bridge, so a car is the easiest way to reach the beaches, and Phuket International Airport is 27.1 km away. A good day here starts with a walk through the town's old streets and a visit to one of the museums, then a drive to Wat Chalong. Evenings can be spent at the night markets, which are within a short walk, and the bus station gives access to the rest of the island.
