The Boathouse Phuket

The road behind the sand has cafés, shops and street-food stalls, so there is plenty to eat close to the sand. Kata is quieter than Patong, the island's busiest resort town, and Nai Harn Beach, further south along the coast, is another bay to explore.

Karon Beach, the neighbouring bay, is 1.7 km away. The Phuket Big Buddha, a large seated Buddha statue, is 2.1 km from the resort, and Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 5.5 km away. The Kata Walking Street Night Market, with its food stalls, is also nearby.

A full day could begin with a swim at Kata Beach, continue with the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, and end at the night market. Phuket International Airport is 33 km away, and airport transfers can be booked before your check-in date. The Phuket Town local bus station is 13.2 km away for guests who want to travel further by bus. Freedom Beach, a small secluded cove, is worth a day out for those who want a quieter beach, and Phuket Town, the island's main town, is an easy trip for a day of shopping and sightseeing.
