The Blue Gecko

The rooms at The Blue Gecko measure between 30 and 65 m² and sleep from two to five guests. Several bungalows have a garden view, a balcony or terrace and air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Beds include king, queen and single options, and some rooms can be set up in more than one way. Guests travelling in a group can choose the Family Bungalow, which sleeps up to five, while couples have a choice of smaller bungalows with a garden view. Guests can choose by group size, from the two-guest rooms up to the Family Bungalow.

Guests can use daily housekeeping and a laundry service, and an airport transfer is offered. The resort is cat-friendly and dog-friendly, pets are allowed, and service animals are welcome.

Breakfast is offered a la carte, as continental or as western-style, and bottled water is also available. On-site parking is available, and free Wi-Fi covers all rooms and the public areas. Internet services are also available.

Guests arriving by air can use the airport transfer from their arrival airport, and the front desk is staffed around the clock.

The Blue Gecko is on Long Beach in the Pra Ae area of Koh Lanta, an island in Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast. The beach is the nearest sand to the hotel, and the area suits guests who want the sea close at hand, with the island's forests and villages close by. Koh Lanta is an island, so the last leg of the journey is by boat.

Klong Dao Beach lies further along the coast, and Kantiang Bay is another bay nearby. Lanta Old Town, the island's old town, is worth a visit once you have settled in, and the village of Ban Sala Dan is also on the island. Guests who want a change of scene from the sand can go exploring across the island, with its beaches and villages, on a day out.

A good day starts with a walk along Long Beach, then a trip to Khao Mai Kaew Cave, a limestone cave 9.9 km away. A second idea is a day out to Khlong Chak Waterfall and the Mu Ko Lanta National Park, which covers forest and coastline on the island. Late afternoon on the sand at Long Beach makes a simple end to the day.
