The Krabi Weekend Night Market, 1.6 km away, is a lively place for street food and local goods, and Krabi Walking Street and Maharaj Market are nearby too. Thara Park Pier, 550 m away, is one of the ferry terminals on the edge of the town. The beaches are farther off: Ao Nang Beach lies 10.2 km away, and Railay Beach, which is reached only by longtail boat, is further still.

A full day could start at the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 8.3 km away, where a long climb leads to the cave shrines. Longtail boats from Ao Nang go out to Poda Island and Tup Island, which lie just offshore, so the afternoon can be spent on the water. In the rainy season the sea can be rough, and boats to the islands may not run on some days, so the day trip depends on the weather.
