The Phuket Walking Street and the colourful old houses are in the same area, so the Old Town can be explored on foot.

The Lard Yai Sunday Night Market is 100 m away, and Wat Mongkol Nimit, a pagoda, is nearby in the old quarter. The Peranakan Museum and Museum Phuket are close by. Wat Chalong, the best-known temple on Phuket, is 7.1 km away, and Phuket International Airport is 26.8 km away. The town is reached by road from the rest of the island, and the local bus station is nearby for onward travel.

A day here can start at the temples and museums of the Old Town and end at the night market, with the Plein Poa Night Market also nearby. For a longer outing, the Big Buddha on its hilltop is 10.5 km away, and Patong and Karon beaches are a longer drive away.
