Nai Yang Beach, the nearest stretch of sand, is 1.3 km away, and Sai Kaew Beach is close by as well. Ni Yang Night Market is in the same neighbourhood. Further afield, Patong Beach is 21.6 km away and the Big Buddha, a large statue on a hilltop, is 30.5 km away. Patong is home to Bangla Road, the island's best-known street for evening entertainment.

A simple day out is to spend the morning on Nai Yang Beach and head to Patong in the evening, when the resort area is at its busiest. The Sunset viewpoint is also close, and it makes a good stop before dinner. Wat Chalong, the most important Buddhist temple on the island, makes a half-day trip, and the Big Buddha is in the same part of the island, so both can be seen on one trip.
