Sleeper Hostel

The rooms at Sleeper Hostel are dormitories with bunk beds, mixed and female, and all of them have air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms look onto the mountains, others onto the garden, and a few have a balcony or terrace.

Some rooms have a single bunk bed and others have seven, and several have fans and linens. Most rooms have a shared bathroom with a shower, and several have blackout curtains, while some have a telephone or a desk. Each room sleeps one or two guests, and where the size is given the rooms measure 35 m², or 45 m² for the mixed dormitory with seven bunk beds.

Sleeper Hostel is in Ao Nang, a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, where a busy seafront faces the limestone islands and longtail boats leave for trips along the coast. The town is lively in the evening, and the Ao Nang Night Market, 1.4 km away, is the main draw after dark. Ao Nang Beach itself is 650 m from the inn, so the sand is easy to reach.

Railay, 2.3 km away, is a peninsula of limestone cliffs and beaches that is reached by longtail boat. Poda Island and Tup Island are popular day trips for snorkelling from Ao Nang, while the Hong Islands are a longer boat trip further out. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 14.7 km away, is a hillside temple with a long stairway and a cave shrine, and Krabi International Airport is 18.4 km away.

A good day starts with a longtail boat from Ao Nang Beach Pier to Poda or Tup for snorkelling, followed by Railay in the afternoon if the sea is calm. Tours are also offered at the inn if you prefer a guided day. In the rainy season, rough seas can stop the boat trips, and a day in Ao Nang with the evening market is the natural alternative.
