Aonang Guesthouse

Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, where limestone cliffs rise behind a long sandy bay and boats leave for the islands. Aonang Guesthouse is on Aonang Soi11, and Ao Nang Beach is 1.4 km away. The streets near the sea are lined with street-food stalls and massage shops, and the town is lively in the evening, with the beach road running past the shops and the bay.

Railay Beach, reached only by longtail boat, sits on a peninsula of limestone cliffs, and Phra Nang Cave is on the same peninsula. Boats from Ao Nang Beach Pier serve Railay, Tup Island and Poda Island, and the Hong Islands lie farther out for longer trips. On land, Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) is a hilltop temple complex 13.9 km away, and Krabi International Airport is 17.5 km from the guesthouse.

A typical day could begin with a boat from Ao Nang Beach Pier to Railay, then return for the evening at the Ao-Nang Landmark Night Market, 2.5 km from the guesthouse, where food stalls and souvenir shops fill the evening. Boat trips to the islands can be cancelled when the sea is rough, particularly in the rainy season.
