Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) is 5.1 km away, a hillside temple complex with a large golden Buddha. For the coast, Ao Nang Beach is 10.7 km away and Railay Beach is 10.8 km away, and Railay is reached by longtail boat.

A good day could start at the temple and continue to Ao Nang Beach, from where boats run to Railay Beach and to the Hong Islands. Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot), a forest pool with green water, is further inland and makes another day out from Krabi Town. Krabi Town works well as a base for a few days, with the temple, the beaches and the piers all reached from here, and a day on the water or a visit to the markets fits easily between them.
