Sleep On The Clouds

Sleep On The Clouds has capsule rooms with ten bunk beds, dormitory-style rooms with single beds, and a few rooms with a private bathroom. Every room has air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. Some rooms are reserved for women and others for men, and one room is assigned on arrival.

Rooms with a private bathroom also have a shower, a hair dryer and an electric kettle. Several rooms have a sofa, a mini bar, blackout curtains and a washing machine. Extra beds depend on the room you choose, and when more than five rooms are booked, different policies and additional supplements may apply.

Kata is a beach district on the Phuket coast, built around a wide bay of golden sand that draws surfers and families alike. The streets behind the beach are lined with cafés, guesthouses and small shops, and the mood is lively in the evening but calmer than Patong, the island's best-known nightlife area.

Kata Beach is the closest beach to the hostel, and Kata Noi Beach, a smaller stretch of sand next to it, is a quieter option. Big Buddha Phuket, a large white statue on a hilltop above Chalong, is 1.4 km away, and Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of the island's best-known Buddhist temples. Patong Beach is 8 km away, and the minibus station is 800 m from the hostel for onward trips around the island.

Taxis and songthaews are the usual way to reach the sights around Kata from the hostel. A good day could begin on Kata Beach in the morning, continue to the Big Buddha and the temple at Wat Chalong in the afternoon, and finish at the Kata Walking Street Night Market in the evening. Phuket International Airport is 32.8 km away for travel to and from the rest of the country.
