Seaview Resort Khao Lak

The rooms at Seaview Resort Khao Lak range from deluxe rooms and a pool villa to two-bedroom family residences, with a choice of bed set-ups in several of them. Several rooms have a garden view. Khao Lak is a stretch of coast in Phangnga province, on the Andaman Sea, with beaches backed by hills of forest and a long line of guesthouses and resorts. Nang Thong Beach is next to the hotel, and the beach road has small shops and simple eateries. The coast was badly hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and memorials and a museum from that time are now part of the area. The resorts are spread out along the road rather than gathered in one town.

Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 2 km away, has forest trails and the five-tier Ton Chong Fa waterfall, 4.3 km away. Similan National Park, 7.7 km away, covers a group of islands reached by boat. Khao Lak is spread along the coast road, so a car or taxi is the easiest way to reach the sights further along the coast.

A good day could start with a walk along Nang Thong Beach, then a visit to Bang Niang Market and the Tsunami Museum, 2.8 km away, and an afternoon of trails at the national park. Boat trips to the Similan Islands are seasonal, since the national park closes during the monsoon months, so trips there depend on the season.
