Koh Yao Yai, the neighbouring island, is 6.2 km away, and Hong Island, with its limestone lagoon, is one of the boat trips from here.

Most day trips here are by boat, to the limestone islands of Phang Nga Bay, and a trip to the viewpoint and an afternoon on the beach fill a quieter day on the island. Phuket International Airport is the main airport for the trip, and the last stretch to Ko Yao Noi is by boat. In the rainy months, sea conditions can stop some boat trips, so it is worth keeping the crossing flexible.
