Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa

The rooms at Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa are pool suites, pool villas, villas and deluxe rooms, and each one has a private bathroom. Some rooms have a sea view and others a garden view.

Some villas and pool villas come with open-air bath privileges, and each room has bathrobes, a hair dryer, an electric kettle and a bathtub. Several rooms sleep up to three guests, and one villa sleeps up to six. Beds are double or king size, with a choice of bed set-ups in one villa, and rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a desk, a sofa, a seating area, mosquito nets and a private entrance.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa with a sauna and foot bath, massage treatments and a yoga room. A library, a gift and souvenir shop and a concierge are also on site, along with laundry, dry cleaning and ironing services.

There is a private beach with snorkelling and tours, and the resort also offers an airport transfer, car hire, a shuttle service and a taxi service. Currency exchange and safety deposit boxes are on site.

Dining covers à la carte, Asian, Continental and Western breakfast options, a coffee shop, a poolside bar, room service and food delivery. There is also a playground, a children's swimming pool and a family room.

Thong Nai Pan Noi is a bay on Ko Pha-ngan, the island in the Gulf of Thailand, with hills rising behind a stretch of sand. The pace here is slower than on the island's busiest beaches, and the bay suits guests who want quiet beach days rather than a strip of bars and nightlife. Villages, small temples and waterfalls lie across the surrounding hills and coves. The island's full moon parties are held at Haad Rin, well away from this bay, so the quiet here is real.

The bay's own beach, Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi, is 450 m from the resort, and the neighbouring Thong Nai Pan Yai beach is 1.2 km away. Wat Thong Nai Pan, a Buddhist temple in the area, and Hat Khuat, known as Bottle Beach, are other places to visit. Samui Airport is 26.1 km away on neighbouring Ko Samui, and the last stage of the journey to Ko Pha-ngan is by boat.

A good day starts with a swim at Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi and a walk to Thong Nai Pan Yai, then continues to the Than Sadet waterfall, 4.2 km from the resort, for a half-day outing. Evenings can be spent at the resort's own spa or on the beach.
