Samui Mermaid Hotel

The rooms at Samui Mermaid Hotel range from a 23 m² garden-wing room with a fan to a 114 m² room with a king bed. Garden views feature in several rooms, one room has a partial sea view, and some rooms have a balcony or terrace or a private entrance.

Some rooms sleep up to five guests, and the rooms sit across the garden wing and the sea wing of the hotel, which is divided by the road. Depending on the room, you will find a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator, a desk, blackout curtains or a fan. Bophut is a former fishing village on the Gulf of Thailand coast of Koh Samui, where the old village streets are lined with shops and food stalls. Hat Bang Rak Beach lies right beside the hotel, and the hotel has its own private beach, so the sea is close for a swim or a quiet hour on the sand.

Big Buddha, a large white statue on the hill above the village, is 1.1 km away, and Wat Plai Laem, a temple known for its big Guanyin statue, is 1.3 km away. Fisherman's Village, a walking street of shops and restaurants in the old fishing village, is 3.1 km away, and the Samui Elephant Sanctuary Bophut is also nearby. Samui Airport, 1.5 km away, is the nearest airport, and ferry piers close by serve the neighbouring islands.

A good day could start at the Big Buddha, then move down the hill to Fisherman's Village for the evening, with Hat Bang Rak Beach for a swim in between. The beach and the hotel's own sand make the coast an easy option for a break between sightseeing. For a slower day, the hotel's own beach and garden are just as easy to reach, with the pools close by too.
